Schwarz Stein began in 2001 when ex-ISOLA members Kaya and ex-Velvet Eden member Hora grouped together to form the band Rudolf Steiner. They released a few demos, but became official under the name Schwarz Stein when they signed onto Mana's (of Malice Mizer and Moi dix Mois) label, Midi:Nette. As a band, they released two singles (Perfect Garden and Current) and two albums (New Vogue Children and Artificial Hallucination). Together, they lasted for about three years until they broke up in 2004.

In 2006, however, they reformed as a session band called Another Cell and released a self titled album of new songs, old Rudolf Steiner, and some remakes of a few Hora solo songs.
